Larry Everest is in New Orleans with another Revolution newspaper correspondent, Orpheus Reed. Togther they are uncovering the truth about this oil disaster, reporting on the people, the ecology, the resistance, analyzing this crime's roots in capitalism, and why things don't have to be this way and the urgency of building a movement for revolution now. Here is their blog:
Revolution Reporters at Oil Disaster
Oil, Power & Empire:
Iraq and the U.S. Global Agenda
is one of the books which influenced Oliver Stone's new movie "W".
The script was influenced by Bob Woodward's book on Bush, State of Denial, among other tomes including State of War by James Risen and Oil, Power & Empire by Larry Everest.
“Stanley plunged into the vast amount of Bush books,” Stone says. “The investigative reporters who did this deserve the credit and we thank them. They helped us look past the window of the Bush Administration.” -Chicago Sun-Times.

Remarkable account of US and UK
policy toward Iraq--from its founding as a British colony after World
War I to the immediate present ... I can't recommend it too highly
for the many struggling to fathom how America came to the present calamitous
role of occupying Iraq against local resistance.

This unique volume compiles in one place a history of US intervention
against Iraq and the devastating consequences for the people and the
region. It shows
the ways in which war today is a continuation of that history, but also a
radical leap to more direct military control in Iraq and around the world.
The “Bush
Doctrine” is both built on our imperial history and yet new and far
more dangerous. [more...]
